Dramatic? Traumatic? I had meconium in my waters, had an epidural, argued with a surgeon who tried to use forceps instead of ventouse, suffered primary postpartum haemorrhage, spent five hours in theatre, had numerous blood transfusions, had to be brought back, nearly had to have a hysterectomy, spent five days in a high dependency ward whilst being told that i might now make it and then spent ten weeks on 16 tablets a day until i passed a lump of placenta and what was meant to be Charlie’s twin. It was a fucking horrible experience. The actual giving birth to Charlie and getting five minutes with him was good. Totally overwhelming. I was so happy to finally have him out! Then everything went wrong and he was left with Ross who had barely said a word to me all day and had just had a go at me for giving birth on his birthday. I don’t even like talking about it anymore. It just makes me angry.
